Strength Training

Strength training is one of the simplest ways to build a stronger, more capable relationship with your body.

I work one-on-one with people who want to get stronger, feel confident, and keep doing the things they love. We build strength progressively, work with your body rather than against it, and adapt training around injuries, limitations, and whatever else life throws at you.

You can be a beginner lifter or seasoned athlete looking for an integrated approach to your fitness and performance.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q1: Is lifting weights better than other forms of exercise like HIIT and pilates?
A: It depends on your goal. The best kind of exercise is the one that addresses your goals, that you will be consistent with, and gets progressively and systematically more challenging. Progressive strength training is proven to increase muscle mass, build bone density, affect metabolic health and affect a host of lifestyle diseases. If any of these are your goals and you wish to get there through strength training, then I am happy to meet you at your level of fitness and ability through lifting weights.

Q2: I got hurt when I deadlifted in the past. Is it ok if I do not deadlift?
A2: Yes. There is an abundance of exercises that can elicit overlapping or similar changes and adaptations. If you are not comfortable doing a deadlift, we can find a variation. I will be invested in knowing the kinds of movements that you fear and in exploring and expanding your confidence and comfort with all kinds of movements at the pace that feels good for you.
